What is a WordPress template

A WordPress template serves as the skin for websites built using the WordPress content management system. A WordPress template is incredibly simple to setup. You may quickly modify the appearance of your WordPress website by installing a new template. A WordPress template comes with all the necessary source files, and you are free to change and expand it however you see fit.

Files structure

There are multiple folders in the template package that you downloaded. Let's examine what is in each folder:

  • Screenshots : contains template screenshots. Not for production.

  • Theme : contains WordPress theme files.

  • alt-painter-pro.zip: this folder content all the necessary files for the theme.

  • license.txt : contains license details.

  • readme.txt : contain information about theme images path and font use and usage scritps.

TS Key Activation

The steps for activating a TS Key are as follows.

As you will get the License Key on your Email, use that key to Activate License.

Follow the following Process to Activate License.

Go to the Dashboard Appearance TS Key Activation Enter Key Save Changes.

After Entering The Key Activate Licence.

After you Activate Licence,the key will be active and then you can Getstarted with the Theme.

My site was working fine before? Who changed the File Permissions?

Incorrect file permissions can block WordPress from creating folders, upload images, or run some scripts

WordPress needs permissions to manage files and create folders on the server.

  • After that select all folders in root directory and then right click to select ‘File Permissions’.
  • wp-config >> permissions dialog box >> click on checkbox read and write >> Click on the OK button to continue
  • same process repeated for wp-content folder

Template Installation

Template installation is very easy process.

Step 1. Theme Installation

First thing you need to do is login to your WordPress admin area. Next, click on

Go to the menu Appearance Themes

Once you are on the themes page, click on the Add New button at the top.

Click on upload theme button.

Click on Browse Button then select your alt-painter-pro.zip theme and click on Install Now Button..

WordPress will now install your theme and show you a success message along with the link to activate or live preview.

Step 2. Install a Theme using FTP

Your second installation option is to upload the theme via FTP. For this method first log into your site via FTP and browse to your folder located at wp-content/themes. Unzip the theme file you downloaded and upload only the extracted Total folder to your server.

Next log into your WordPress site and navigate to Appearance Themes to activate total folder.

Plugin Installation.

Plugins are ways to extend and add to the functionality that already exists in WordPress.

How to activate plugins If you want these functionalities in your theme for which you need to activate plugin. Follow these instructions to activate plugin in your theme.

To install a WordPress Plugin manually by .zip archive and follow the below steps for Upload plugin .

Install Required Plugins:

painter-pro Posttype plugin, Contact Form 7

In order to use Painter you need to install and activate Painter Pro plugin without this theme you can not display your content on your site.

1.Add Plugin : Go to Dashboard Add New Upload plugin..

click on the install now button and activate.

One-Click Demo Content Importer

Import demonstration content with one click to get your theme setup. This content will guide you through building your website for website creation.

Go toDashboard >> Appearance >> Get started

Click on"Demo Content Importer" and then "Run Importer".

Section Ordering

How to Arrange and Reordering Section

Section reordering basically means to arranage the section as per our requirement. So as to continue with this section you need to drag section on top or bottom where you need it. when you will drap any section top or bottom your front view will change according customizer values.

For Section Re-ordering,you just need to simply drag-and-drop options into any order as per your wish .

So as to continue with Section Ordering.

Step 1 Go to Dashboard >> Appearance >> Customizing >> Plugin Setting >> Section Ordering

Click on "Demo Content Importer" and then "Run Importer".

How to set up homepage

Once you view your site after activating the theme, You will see the index page with the latest post. Now you will need to setup the home page template to show all the demo section on your front page.


Setup Home Page

Follow these instructions to setup Home page.

1. Create Page to set template : Go to Dashboard Pages Add New Page.

Select the template.

2. Set the front page: Go to Setting Reading Set the front page display static page to home page.

Once you have done with this, you can see all the demo content on front page.

Setup Topbar

So as to continue Topbar Section.

Go to Appearance Customize Theme Setting Topbar .

Site Identity

So as to continue Site Identity, follow the below steps.

Setup Header

To begin with the Header, follow the below steps.

Go to Dashboard Pages Add New

For menus you need to create menu and add menus from Add menu items.

Go to Appearance Customize Theme Settings Header.

Repeat the same steps if you want to add more pages.

Setup Slider

So as to continue with slider.

Go to Appearance Customize Theme Settings Slider Section.

You must first establish categories.

Setup Home Contact form Section

To begin with the Home Contact form you need upload and activate contact form 7 plugin.

After installation Contact option will appear on the dashboard.

Setup Footer Text Section

So as to continue with Footer Text section,

Go to Appearance Customize Theme Settings Footer Text..

Choose copyright text in the footer text section.

The text in the footer will be similar to this on the page.


Setup Contact Page Section

To begin with the Contact Page you need upload and activate contact form 7 plugin.

On the dashboard following installation, there will be a Contact option.

Go to Dashboard Contact Add New .


Go to Appearance Customize Theme Settings Contact.

Themes Plugin

  • The functionality that already exists in WordPress can be expanded and enhanced via plugins.

    You must enable the plugin if you want these features in your theme. To enable the plugin in your theme, adhere to these directions.

    How to activate plugins

    Go to Plugins Installed Plugins painter-pro-Posttype. Activate

Page Templates and Sidebars

Page Templates

  • Default Template (The default page template with a right sidebar position)

  • Home Page Template (Front page with the demo content)

  • Blog Full Width Extend (Page template with no sidebar position)

  • Blog with Left Sidebar (A page templates with left sidebar position)

  • Blog With Right Sidebar (A page template with right sidebar position)

  • Page with Left Sidebar (A page templates with left sidebar position)

  • Page With Right Sidebar (A page template with right sidebar position)

  • Contact Template (The default Contact template with no sidebar position)

Posts, Categories and Post Formats

Adding category

  • Log into your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).

  • Click the Posts tab.

  • With that done, click Categories for blog posts.

  • Type in the name of your new category.

  • After that, click the Add New Category button.

Click the Publish button.

Creating a Blog post

  • Log into your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard).

  • Click the Posts tab.

  • Click the Add New tab.

Shortcodes

A shortcode is an effective tool for creating content. click here Using shortcodes is simple. First, ensure that Visual editing mode is selected.

How to Setup Additional Theme Add Ons

1.The plugin must first be downloaded from the source (which will be a zip file) ( Post Type plugin.zip). Then, click the Plugins » Add New page in the WordPress admin area.

2.Then, select the Upload Plugin button located at the top of the page.

3.You'll arrive at the plugin upload page after doing this. Next, you must select the plugin file you already downloaded to your computer by clicking the choose file option.

4.After choosing the file, you must select the install now option.

5.WordPress will now upload the plugin file from your computer and install it for you. You will see a success message like this after installation is finished.

6.After installation, click the "Activate Plugin" link to begin using the plugin.
